Background A mouse isotype control is an antibody of the same class
(isotype) of immunoglobulin as the specific mouse antibody, but is either
myeloma-derived antibody of unknown specificity, or is raised against an antigen
that is presumed not to be present on or in the cells under study. Isotype
control antibodies are used for the estimation of non-specific binding of target
primary antibodies to cell surface antigens. IMGENEX offers a variety of mouse
isotype controls including fluorescene conjugates and azide-free
formats. |
Application Notes
The MOPC-31C hybridoma cell line was grown and tissue culture supernatant was purified using affinity chromatography.

Cell surface flow cytometric analysis of CD2 in 10^6 human lymphocytes using 10 ul (0.25 ug) of IMG-6296AF647. Shaded histogram represents cells without antibody; green represents isotype control (IMGENEX, 20109AF647); red represents anti-CD2 antibody. IMGENEX's cell surface flow kit (IMGENEX, 10084K) was used for this test (cells were not fixed for testing). |
