STATs (signal transducers and activators of transcription) are a family of cytoplasmic latent transcription factors that are activated to regulate gene expression in response to a large number of extracellular signaling polypeptides including cytokines, interferons, and growth factors. Stat 6 is rapidly activated in response to IL-4, however the fate of the activated form is not clear.

This antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 806-826 (ILPRQQYFKQNCSQHESSP) of human STAT6. This sequence is 80% homologous in mouse and 85% homologous in rat.

Application Notes
The STAT6 amino acid sequence used as immunogen for this antibody is 80% homologous in mouse and 85% in rat.

STAT6 Antibody

Western blot analysis of STAT6 in K562 cell lysate using STAT6 antibody at 1:1000 dilution.

Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded thymus tissue (medulla) stained STAT6 antibody (1:50).

Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in 10 mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
