Background
STATs (signal transducers and activators of transcription) are a family of cytoplasmic latent transcription factors that are activated to regulate gene expression in response to a large number of extracellular signaling polypeptides including cytokines, interferons, and growth factors. Stat 6 is rapidly activated in response to IL-4, however the fate of the activated form is not clear. |
Antigen
This antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 806-826 (ILPRQQYFKQNCSQHESSP) of human STAT6. This sequence is 80% homologous in mouse and 85% homologous in rat. |
Application Notes
The STAT6 amino acid sequence used as immunogen for this antibody is 80% homologous in mouse and 85% in rat. |
