Background
CD25 is a 55KDa transmembrane glycoprotein consisting of a heavily glycosylated extracellular domain, a transmembrane region and a short cytoplasmic tail. It is expressed during early stages of thymocytes development and in activated CD4+ memory T-lymphocytes. CD25 heterodimerizes with IL2R-beta and IL-2R gamma and forms the tripartite high affinity IL-2 receptor complex. It increases the specificity and affinity of IL-2 receptor complex for IL-2 ligand and is necessary for receptor clustering required for augmentation of IL-2 signaling. Mutations in CD25 result in severe immunodeficiency.

Antigen
The B6.1 mouse cytotoxic T cell line was used as immunogen for this antibody.

Application Notes
Mouse splenocytes were stimulated with 5 ug/ml ConA for three days prior to testing.
