Background
TRBP is an RNA associated nuclear protein. It contains 3 DRBM (double stranded RNA-binding) domains and plays an important role by binding to HIV-1 TAR RNA located in the long terminal repeat (LTR). TRBP acts synergistic with viral TAT protein in HIV-1 expression activation. It binds preferentially to TAR and other double-stranded RNAs with G+C-rich characteristics. It is important in regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter and is widely expressed in most of the tissues. |
Antigen
A portion of amino acids 340-390 of human TRBP was used as the immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human (isoforms CRA_a, CRA_b and CRA_c), horse and monkey, 92% homologous in rat, 90% homologous in chicken and 85% homologous in mouse. |
