Background
NALP7 is a 980 amino acid containing short NALP belonging to the NLRP family with a DAPIN domain, nine LRR (leucine-rich) repeats and a NACHT domain. NALP7 is usually induced by LPS and IL-1B in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. A PYRIN-containing APAF-1-like protein, NALP7 directly interacts with CASP1 and IL-1B and acts as a feedback regulator of CASP1/caspase-1-dependent interleukin-1 beta secretion. It may play a crucial role in cell proliferation. Expressed in numerous tissues including uterus and ovary, with low levels in heart and brain but not detected in skeletal muscle. Defects in NLRP7 are the cause of hydatidiform mole (HYDM), an abnormal human pregnancy with no embryo and cystic degeneration of placental villi. |

The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human and rhesus monkey. |
