Background NALP11 is a 1033 amino acid containing cytoplasmic protein belonging to the NLRP family with a DAPIN domain, six LRR (leucine-rich) repeats and a NACHT domain. Reports suggest that it is a short NALP involved in inflammation potential. NALP proteins are implicated in the activation of proinflammatory caspases (e.g., CASP1) via their involvement in multiprotein complexes called inflammasomes. The DAPIN domain is necessary and sufficient for suppression of NF-kappa B activation induced by TNF and for inducing IL-1B secretion in collaboration with Caspase-1. It is involved in interaction with PYCARD. |
Antigen
A portion of amino acids 850-900 of human NALP11 was used as the immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human, 88% homologous in monkey, and 62% homologous in mouse. |
