Background Period circadian protein homolog 1 (PER1) is a member of the PAS family of protein that is encoded by a Period family of genes, i.e. PER1, and is expressed in a circadian pattern in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, the primary circadian pacemaker in the mammalian brain. PER1 is a component of the circadian rhythms of locomotor activity, metabolism and behavior. |
Antigen
A portion of amino acids 30-80 of mouse PER1 was used as the immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in mouse, horse, dog, pig and cattle, and 94% homologous in rhesus monkey, chimpanzee, rat and human. |
