Background
CDX3/CDX2 is a homeobox protein that binds to the A/T rich sequence in the insulin promoter to stimulate transcription. It is a caudal type homeobox gene that encodes an intestine-specific transcription factor that is expressed early in intestinal development. The CDX2 protein is expressed in primary and metastatic colorectal carcinomas and has also been demonstrated in the intestinal metaplasia of the stomach and intestinal-type gastric cancer. It also plays an important role in maintenance of epithelial lining of the intestines. |
Antigen
A portion of amino acids 1-60 of human CDX3/CDX2 was used as the immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human, horse, rhesus monkey, opossum, mouse, cattle and rat, 78% homologous in bowfin, and 75% in chicken. |
