Background
Cell division cycle-associated 7-like protein (or RAM2) is a transcription factor which plays a role in transcriptional regulation and apoptotic signaling pathways. It acts as a repressor that inhibits monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) activity and gene expression by binding to promoter. It also plays an important oncogenic role in mediating the full transforming effect of MYC in medulloblastoma cells. It may act downstream of P38-kinase and BCL-2, but upstream of CASP3/caspase-3 as well as CCND1/cyclin D1 and E2F1. |
Antigen
A portion of amino acid 170 to 220 of human CDCA7L/RAM2 was used as immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human and chimpanzee, 89% homologous in monkey and 73% homologous in cow and dog. |

Western blot analysis of CDCA7L/RAM2 in HCT-116 cell lysate in the 1) absence and 2) presence of immunizing peptide and 3) NIH 3T3 cell lysate using IMG-6570A at 4 ug/ml and 2 ug/ml, respectively. IMGENEX’s goat anti-rabbit Ig HRP secondary antibody (IMGENEX, 20301) and PicoTect ECL substrate solution (IMGENEX, 10087K) were used for this test. |
