Background
Adaptor Protein 3 complex subunit mu-1 (AP3M1) belongs to the adaptor complexes medium subunit family and it contains one MHD (mu homology) domain. AP3 is a hetero-tetrameric protein complex composed of four subunits: two large (delta and beta3), one medium (mu3a/M1), and one small (sigma 3). Mutations in one of the large subunits of AP3 have been associated with the Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by defective lysosome-related organelles. It is also reported that AP3, is responsible for the trafficking of TLR9 to recognize viral nucleic acid. AP3 is also involved with a susceptibility gene for schizophrenia, dysbindin.

Antigen
The immunogen for this antibody was a portion of amino acid 140-190 of human AP3 subunit M1.

Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human, rhesus monkey, wild pig, dog, cow, horse, opossum, orangutan, mouse, rat, wild turkey, zebrafinch, chicken, new world monkey, chinese hamster, macaque, rabbit, carolina anole and platypus.
