Principal Names- mgst1l1; pig12; prostaglandin e synthase; PGES; PP102; PP1294; MGST-IV; MGST1L1; TP53I12; MGC10317; MGST1-L1; LOC9536;  PGES-1 is a membrane associated protein involved in eicosanoid and glutathione metabolism as part of the arachidonic acid signaling pathway. The expression of this protein is induced by the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1B and its’ activity is glutathione dependent. PGES is also expressed at high levels in P53 expressing cells.
