Background ATF4 encodes a cAMP response element (CRE) binding protein called CREB-2 which acts as a transcriptional activator. The protein contains a COOH-terminal leucine-zipper motif and an adjacent basic domain. The protein is expressed ubiquitously in human brain and umbilical vein endothelial cell. The protein binds to a Tax-responsive enhancer element in the long terminal repeat of HTLV-I. The protein is localized in the 22q13.1 region of human chromosome. Two pseudogenes are located on the X chromsome at q28 in a region containing a large inverted duplication. ATF4 negatively regulate transcription from the cAMP response element. |
Antigen
This antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to human ATF4 around the phosphorylation site of serine 245 (N-R-SP-L-P). |
