Background Researchers have indicated that they want access to novel target antibodies quickly to aid in their research. IMGENEX is pleased to be able to offer researchers access to cutting-edge products that are still in the process of characterization/validation. IMGENEX’s ‘IMX’ antibody line is shown by ELISA to bind to the peptide used as immunogen. Investigators should empirically determine the suitability of the antibody, including optimal dilutions, for other applications of interest.
We cannot guarantee that the yet-to-be-fully validated antibody will work in any application other than in an ELISA against the peptide used as immunogen and therefore cannot offer a refund if the antibody does not work in your application. |
The antibody is offered at a lower price compared to a more highly validated antibody. |
We are not able to provide the immunogen for the antibodies, but do provide the amino acid sequence. |
These antibodies are not fully validated and we appreciate your feedback. Customer feedback is used to help generate testing methodologies which can lead to further product validation or withdrawal.
Angiogenesis is controlled by a local balance between stimulators and inhibitors of new vessel growth and is suppressed under normal physiologic conditions. Angiogenesis has been shown to be essential for growth and metastasis of solid tumors. In order to obtain blood supply for their growth, tumor cells are potently angiogenic and attract new vessels as results of increased secretion of inducers and decreased production of endogenous negative regulators. Brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor 1 (BAI1) is a seven-span transmembrane protein belonging to the secretin receptor family. There are two other brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor genes, designated BAI2 and BAI3 which along with BAI1 have similar tissue specificities and structures, however only BAI1 is transcriptionally regulated by p53. BAI1 is postulated to be a member of the secretin receptor family, an inhibitor of angiogenesis and a growth suppressor of glioblastomas. |
