Background Researchers have indicated that they want access to novel target antibodies quickly to aid in their research. IMGENEX is pleased to be able to offer researchers access to cutting-edge products that are still in the process of characterization/validation. IMGENEX’s ‘IMX’ antibody line is shown by ELISA to bind to the peptide used as immunogen. Investigators should empirically determine the suitability of the antibody, including optimal dilutions, for other applications of interest.
 |
We cannot guarantee that the yet-to-be-fully validated antibody will work in any application other than in an ELISA against the peptide used as immunogen and therefore cannot offer a refund if the antibody does not work in your application. |
 |
The antibody is offered at a lower price compared to a more highly validated antibody. |
 |
We are not able to provide the immunogen for the antibodies, but do provide the amino acid sequence. |
These antibodies are not fully validated and we appreciate your feedback. Customer feedback is used to help generate testing methodologies which can lead to further product validation or withdrawal.
NALP5 is a 1200 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the NALP protein family and contains a NACHT domain, a NACHT-associated domain (NAD), a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region, and an N-terminal pyrin domain (PYD). NALP5 plays an important role in embryonic development beyond the two cell stage. Expression of this protein is restricted to oocytes and may have a role in autoimmune premature ovarian failure and infertility in women. Like other members of the family, NALP5 may also play a critical role in the activation of proinflammatory caspases like CASP1 by the formation of multiprotein complexes known as inflammasomes and may also be a cause of neuronal apoptosis following brain injury or diseases. Reports suggest that auto-antibodies against NALP5 which are highly specific may also be useful in the diagnosis of the multiorgan autoimmune disorder autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type I (APS1). |
Antigen
Amino acids 215-232 of human NALP5 QEGATAAETEEQGHGGDT protein were used as the immunogen. |
Application Notes
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human ( isoform CRA_b) and 77% homologous in monkey. |
