Background
A rat isotype control is an antibody of the same class (isotype) of immunoglobulin as the specific mouse antibody, but is either myeloma-derived antibody of unknown specificity, or is raised against an antigen that is presumed not to be present on or in the cells under study. Isotype control antibodies are used for the estimation of non-specific binding of target primary antibodies to cell surface antigens. IMGENEX offers a variety of rat isotype controls including fluorescene conjugates and azide-free formats. |
Application Notes
The RTK2118 hybridoma cell line was grown and tissue culture supernatant was purified using affinity chromatography. Click here to see a list of additional rat isotype control antibodies. |

Cell surface flow cytometric analysis of SSEA-3 on NCCIT cells using 0.5 ug of IMG-6523B. Green histogram represents isotype control (IMGENEX, 20214B), red represents anti-SSEA-3 antibody. IMGENEX’s cell surface flow kit (10084K) and PE-conjugated streptavidin secondary were used for this test (cells were not fixed for testing). |
