This ligand binds to Fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase-3 (FLT-3). Mouse FLT-3 ligand stimulates the proliferation of cells expressing mouse FLT-3 receptors. The effects of FLT-3 ligand are synergized by coexpression of G-CSF, GM-CSF, M-CSF, IL3 and SCF. FLT-3 ligand promotes long-term expansion and differentiation of mouse pro-B-cells in the presence of IL-7 or in combination of IL-7 and IL-3. Recombinant mouse FLT-3 Ligand produced in E. Coli is a non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 144 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 16,431 Daltons.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered; white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
2 ug of lyophilized protein
Stability
Lyophilized product is very stable at -20°C. Reconstituted material should be aliquoted and frozen at -20°C. It is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Purity
Purity greater than 98% as determined by: Analysis by RP-HPLC, reducing and non-reducing SDS- PAGE.
Recombinant mouse FLT-3 Ligand is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of mouse AML5 cells is less than 7.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Protein Content
Protein content determined by: UV spectroscopy at 280 nm. Analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
